Oil Name:
Ylang Ylang - 3rd
Botanical Name
Cananga odorata par genuina
Description
The sometimes-large evergreen Ylang Ylang (pronounced e-lang e-lang) tropical Asian Tree means, “flower of flower”. It produces a very attractive orchid-like flower that is historically spread out on the marriage bed of the bride and groom in its native cultivated areas and is considered an exotic aphrodisiac due to its strong sweet sensuous nocturnal aroma. The flowers are also worn for personal adornment. The Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is derived from the floral several times during the flower’s lengthy multiple (four) grade distillation process. Each process phase results in a variation and often overlapping quality on the oil grade. The medicinal properties seem rather consistent in the grading. The aroma grades are distinguished at different intensities and the perfect Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is more a matter of preference than definition. Ylang Ylang – 3rd is recommended for the blending environment at Venturoma. It is a controlled blending of the sweet yet strong aroma, which usually serves best in combination with another fragrance. Our Ylang Ylang smells somewhat like night-blooming Jasmine (The Ylang Ylang is also night-bloomer), a Honeysuckle and the Plumeria (used to make some of the Hawaiian Flower Lei) all in one. It is a very evocative fragrance, meaning it conjures up vivid memories of the past and appeals to both male and female. This is a wonderful experience not just an aroma.
